It could be almost anything, but the bottom line is you are legally right and the big company is legally wrong. Maybe your insurance company denied your valid claim because it was “only” $40 and they knew you wouldn’t argue with them over it. ![]() Maybe it’s an unauthorized charge on their phone bill. Often it starts when just one any person realizes something is wrong. But when the company makes millions of dollars selling the sugar water nationwide, they can rake in big bucks while millions of consumers get duped (most without ever knowing it). Fifty cents a bottle does not a lawsuit make. ![]() A good example would be the baby food case where the so-called apple juice was really just sugar water. The reason class actions exist is because sometimes a large company may rip off consumers by just a small amount per person and then it may not be enough for an individual person to do anything about it just because it is not practical or not worth it. The idea of a class action case is to give the average person the ability to take on a large company and have a fighting chance. If you have enough people (each state has a minimum number but it is usually at least 30 or 40) who were all legally hurt the same way by the same company, then you may be able to all group together and pursue the case as a class action. The second kind of notice often is that the case has been settled and you may be entitled to get some benefit from it if you fill out a claim form and often answer some questions or provide proof that the case covers you. Otherwise, you are automatically included in it. Normally you have to file a written document in court to stay out of the class action case by a deadline. One says that there is a class action case and you may be a member of it if you don’t “opt out” and say that you don’t want to be in it. By today's standard of the 5.0L Coyote, 300/320 horsepower/torque available from the 4.6L/5.4L SOHC 3V is laughable, however, more power is possible with the right parts and technique.People often get two kinds of notices about class action cases. We're talking 300 hp at 5,750 rpm and 320 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm of torque box stock in the '05 Mustang GT. It is that second intake valve and variable cam timing that infuse real power into this engine. What makes the 3V a better bargain than the 2V is better breathing and more power for the same amount of money as the 2V. The beauty of a 4.6L or 5.4L SOHC 3V is lightweight aluminum block casting technology. There are aftermarket shops like Modular Motorsports Racing and L & R Custom Engine Building doing complete 3V engines and short-blocks.
